INITIALIZE

Welcome to the February issue of Aural Fix Communique! Be sure to check back for weekly updates! Thanks to John Skowronek for the snazzy redesign, and thanks to Dee Loebl for all her previous work.

We had another price increase. So if you want to lock in your price for 2006 you'd better get on board! Download our new media kit, then email us at sales@auralfix.com and let's work together and increase your business and our page count together! The more you buy the more you save over 1x insertions. We'd like to welcome the Vintage Lounge to our growing list of advertisers. (Punk Rock Pete and myself will have some more for you all next month!).

We'd also like to welcome music industry professional Mel Glazer to the staff of Aural Fix. He will be penning the new SongTalker column. Please take advantage of his knowledge and kind offer to share with our readers his publishing and songwriting business answers to your questions. Also joining us with a regular column is Matt Jasper with his Scenes From a Scene column.

The Next Wave In Music Series will return in March with the huge Aural Anniversary Party; Friday March 31st at Mr. Beery's. (We're up to 9 years online and six years in print!). Lineup will be announced in the March issue! (Don't call us, we'll call you - Aural Staff gets first dibs on all the slots, then if we have any room at the end of the night you can jump on our band wagon...)

Have you picked up The Inside Connection and checked out The Local Scene section we've done for them? Come down to the next ultra-cool networking party, Saturday February 25th from 6pm-10pm at O'Reilly's in Oakdale. Bring lots of press kits and CD's and rub elbows with fellow musicians and music industry peeps. Or just watch me get sloppy drunk - your call. But if you want on the guestlist, email your name and contact info to mikef@insidecx.com. This month I'll be going over press kits, one sheets and other indie band strategies. I'll try to get some people down for a round table.
