Welcome to the Online issue
of Aural Fix Communique!

Well if it’s March then it’s our anniversary! We began printing this in March of 2001 and some how managed to survive to this day & age!

All because I was bored and wanted learn web design back in 1996, so I started auralisland.com, which featured a local music news section called Aural Fix. That lead to auralfix.com and of course this glorious little piece of Freedom of Press that you hold in your hands today (well right now you're reading jusy like we started - online!)

I can’t say that it has been easy, but I can say it has been fun, and when it hasn’t been fun, it was at least challenging!

Publishing is not for the weak, just ask The Island Ear, Long Island Entertainment, The Inside Connection, Newsday Night Beat, The Long Island Voice, Under The Volcano, and Perpetual Toxins among others. Not that these guys were weak, I'm just showing the body count! I'm not gloating over their demise either, because the fewer publications we have, the less coverage opportunities local musicians have. These days it's basically little Aural Fix and the old Good Times. It is only by my own black will that we’re still around! Well, that and the fact we have a really great team here at Aural Island Enterprises. I couldn’t do it without them – wouldn’t want to!

Remember, it’s not just a job - it’s a Revolution! So if you want to be a part of it get in touch. Besides the magazine we’re also working on all sorts of cool stuff for the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. Now that the shield generator is operational on the secret HQ, we can strike out against the Empire at will! (of course if my landlord doesn't put in a damn exhaust fan the paint fumes may kill us!)

We changed the date for our annual Aural Anniversary Bash due to some schedule conflicts so now it will be Saturday April 12th at Leftys Bar in Lindenhurst. Expect the usual cast of characters, including a performance from Reign of Angels – and of course the legendary White Trash Buffet!!!
